Equality in our Setting
At Southery Playgroup we are committed to anti discriminatory practice giving due regard to disability, pregnancy, gender reassignment, maternity, race, religion or belief, sexual orientation, gender, age and marriage and civil partnership. This is also referred to as the nine protected characteristics in the Equality Act 2010.
Southery Playgroup’s Aims:
- To provide and assure a happy environment where diversity is welcomed and celebrated in order to reduce prejudices and discrimination.
- To sustain our open door policy where nobody feels anxious about the setting due to preconceptions and judgements against them.
- To provide an environment where children are able to enjoy and achieve reaching their full potential, celebrating individuality and uniqueness.
- To increase knowledge and understanding from anyone attending or visiting the setting actively as well as tackle any discrimination shown.
