Dear Parent/Carer,
Plans for full reopening in September
We are pleased to be able to share with you our plans for the full reopening of Southery Playgroup in September.
In producing these plans we have kept two core principles in mind:
1. The safety of children, staff and the wider community.
2. Achieving as much normality as possible, to support the children in their return to playgroup and them having a positive experience that supports learning and social integration.
In order to achieve this, we have had to make some changes to normal routines and these are all outlined in the attached plan. These plans have all been carefully considered amongst a host of other models but do fit within the risk assessment and government guidelines in meeting our core principles the most. Please be advised however that they are subject to change should the government guidelines change at all over the next coming weeks. We will keep you updated of any significant changes as appropriate, via the Facebook page. We want to support everyone in returning in September so if you have any questions or concerns, please do get in touch via email and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Opening times
Morning sessions / Afternoon sessions
9am -11.45am /  12.15pm-3pm
All day
9am-3pm
When entering the school grounds please keep to the right and follow school’s social distancing lines and your child’s temperature will be taken once they are in the circle. They will then come in through the gate and you will say goodbye to your child there and you will follow the arrows back out of the school grounds.
If you would like to speak to us about your child please email us and we can answer your questions or contact you to make an appointment if needed.
Please can we ask that you are prompt in dropping off and collecting your children from the setting due to impacting on school’s covid 19 procedures.
If your child is not collected by 3.05pm this will incur a late fee charge of £5.00 and you will not be able to collect your child until 3.25pm.
• The member/members of staff at the gate will definitely be wearing a mask.
• Once your child is in the gate they will have hand sanitiser put on and they will then go inside.
• If your child is in nappies/pull-ups please put these in a plastic container clearly labelled with your child’s name. The playgroup will provide nappy bags and wipes.
• Lunches and snacks are to be provided by yourselves in a plastic wipeable container, clearly labelled with your child’s name. Please make your child’s snack and lunch items easily accessible for your child to open themselves, to minimise contact.
Toilets
Due to adhering social bubbles in Southery Academy we will be having a portable toilet situated in the front area.
This will be cleaned between each child using it, daily and will be cleaned and replenished weekly.

We hope that you will be understanding in this new way forward and thank you for your continued support.

Kind regards
Kerry Jones and Cath Robson
Manager and Committee Chairperson

IMPORTANT NOTICE. This is a reminder for the leavers who are going to Southery Academy. Miss Leach has asked, if you have not already done so, to accept her invitation to join Class Dojo before Friday 17th July, as this will be used across the school. It may have gone into your spam folders in your emails. This will also help Miss Leach to communicate with you over the summer holidays regarding how September will work.
